WINEMAKER COMMENTS: This limited production Cabernet Sauvignon was grown in the middle section of a single vineyard in Coobsville, Napa Valley AVA. It is a special block, where red volcanic soils merge with volcanic ash. Its location is a little bit cooler than fruit from the top of the hill, so we get extra hangtime in the resulting fruit. 2019 was an abundant vintage and we had more fruit from this block then we can fit into our Reserve wine so we decide to make a small amount of single vineyard expression Cabernet Sauvignon.
TASTING NOTES: Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2019 Coombsville Cabernet Sauvignon “Single vineyard” features crushed red and black currants, black raspberries and wild blueberry scents with hints of cigars, pencil shavings menthol, black tea and a hint of cedar. Medium-full bodied, the palate expresses rich black fruits and finely integrated tannins, supported by impressive freshness finishing long and energetic. Drink through 2030
